Your family is already here
Surf at 7am. Deep work by 9. Dinner with people who know your name and care about your project. Survana isn't a hotel with a community manager — it's a home where real relationships happen.

What makes this different
Survana isn't a hostel. It isn't a hotel. It's a home where people who build things become family.
Builders, not tourists
Everyone at Survana is working on something. A startup, a book, a coaching practice, a blockchain protocol. The house selects for ambition and follow-through.
No cliques, no drama
3 bedrooms, max 6 people at a time. Small enough that everyone knows everyone. Big enough that you can find a quiet corner for deep work.
Show up as you are
Past residents include a Shark Tank founder, an MIT blockchain researcher, a Forbes Council member, and someone who left corporate to become a breathwork facilitator. There's no mold.
The house keeps going
Alumni stay connected through the house Telegram group long after they leave. Introductions, referrals, and reunion trips happen year-round.
A typical week
Everything is optional. Nothing is mandatory. But something is always happening.
Founder Hours
Informal co-working on the terrace. Share what you're building, get feedback, swap intros.
Toastmasters
Public speaking practice with Lisbon's English-speaking Toastmasters clubs. Several offer hybrid attendance from Ericeira.
House Dinners
Residents take turns cooking. Portuguese cataplana, Brazilian feijoada, Korean bibimbap — depends who's in that month.
Ice Baths & Breathwork
Cold exposure sessions with local practitioners. Some at the house, some at White Fountain Eco Village.
Latin Dance Night
Bachata workshop at 8pm then salsa, bachata & kizomba social dancing at BreakPoint Ericeira. All levels. €5 entry.
Surf Sessions
Group surf at Foz do Lizandro or Ribeira d'Ilhas. Boards and wetsuits rentable nearby. Group lessons from €35.
Freedom City Church
English-speaking international church in Lisbon. Services at 16:30 & 18:15 near Rato metro.
Karaoke in Lisbon
Monthly group trip to Lisbon. 30-minute drive, usually 8–12 people, always chaotic in the best way.

House Telegram group
Surf at 7am, “anyone driving to Lisbon?”, lunch plans — the chat never sleeps.
Coworking Partners
Work from the house terrace for free, or switch it up at a partner space. All three offer affordable day passes — no monthly commitment needed.

Kelp Cowork
The go-to spot for Ericeira nomads. Biophilic design, rooftop terrace, phone booths, fibre internet. 5-minute walk from Survana.

Coastal Cowork Collective
Ocean views, quieter vibe, great for deep work and client calls. Right next to Kelp if you want to switch it up.

Lapoint Cowork
Bright Scandi-style workspace on the cliffs above Foz do Lizandro. Pool, outdoor gym, restaurant and the legendary Lapoint Wednesday sunsets all on-site. ~20-min coastal walk south of Survana.
SITIO AI HUB
2,230m² tech hub in Alvalade, Lisbon. Microsoft AI partnership, 140-seat auditorium, startup programs. For big-city energy days.
Survana tip: Most residents work from the house terrace 3–4 days a week and use a coworking space 1–2 days for variety. At €17/day, a coworking day pass costs less than lunch. No monthly commitment needed.

Europe’s only inland salt flats. And the best chicken you’ll ever eat.
Salinas de Rio Maior & Solar do Sal · Marinhas do Sal · ~50 min from the house
Sea salt mined 30 km from the ocean, a medieval village of wooden huts, warm salt-water pools to float in — and the wood-fired frango locals drive across the district for. Loop in the walled town of Óbidos and its hilltop castle and you have a full day out, under an hour from your room.
Sea salt, 30 km from the sea
A natural brine spring many times saltier than the ocean feeds the pans — Europe’s only working inland salt flats.
Worked since 1177
Eight centuries of hand-harvested salt, once run by the Knights Templar.
A village of wooden palheiros
Salt-workers’ timber huts and storehouses, standing barely changed for generations.
Float in a warm salt spa
Open-air salt-water bathing pools beside the pans, open through the summer.
Best grilled chicken in the world
Wood-fired piri-piri frango at Solar do Sal — locals queue half an hour for it.
Medieval Óbidos on the same loop
A walled hilltop town and castle to wander — the perfect pairing, ~55 min away.
Under an hour from the house
An easy inland day-trip out of the Eco Village — about 50 minutes by car.

Time your stay for it
Óbidos Medieval Market
16–26 July 2026Each July the walled town travels back to the Middle Ages: armoured knights and jousting tournaments, jesters, minstrels and falconers, fire-eaters by torchlight, period taverns serving spit-roast meats and mead, and dozens of artisan stalls inside the castle walls — a 55-minute drive from the house.
